Welcome to Riverwood Center, a division of the Berrien Mental Health Authority. We’re glad you’ve stopped to learn about us!

Here at Riverwood Center, exciting things are underway for 2018 and beyond. We’ve dedicated a great deal of time in 2018 to assessing staff needs, better understanding the communities we serve, and most importantly, assessing how we can best support our clients in Berrien County.

After much thought, we’ve decided that our vision going forward is to provide the best service we can, as often as possible. To that end, we envision ourselves providing exceptional service, such that “every person has an exceptional experience, every time.”

We’ve also developed five workgroups this year aligning with our updated Mission, Vision, and Values. These workgroups are already achieving so many goals, and we look forward to great things to come out of each of them over the next five years.

Our first workgroup is focusing on moving Riverwood Center’s culture toward an emphasis on great Customer Service, always. Part of the efforts of the group have already resulted in the remodeling of part of our “Building I” in Benton Harbor, MI, using a conservative budget, to create a more welcoming space for our guests. We’d love for you to visit our site, and check out the new updates.

Workgroup number two meets to discuss change initiatives around the overall betterment of our organization, specific to achieving a “desired culture,” both for staff, and visitors.

Workgroup number three has been addressing expectations and accountability needs for our staff, to challenge us all to always do our best in service to our consumers. In fact, the workgroup has had a full schedule of recurring meetings with our Executive Team, and is preparing a new series of leadership-focused activities to support our supervisors and clinicians.

Our communications workgroup, team number four, is actively working to map the flow of communication throughout Riverwood Center, so that we can be more efficient when working with information. Part of these efforts align with the provision of improved information resources that allow our staff to provide transparent, supportive communication back to those we serve.

Finally, our fifth workgroup is meeting frequntly to work on topics in human resources, so we can strive to attract, hire, and retain the best service providers possible. In 2018, the group worked on topics including but not limited to improving the hiring process overall, and the experience of new-hires as they go through our onboarding process.

From the staff at Riverwood Center, we are so very proud to serve our community members throughout Berrien County, MI, and look forward to providing you with exceptional service!
